Church of St. Nicholas

Yet another Church of St. Nicholas. This one is located in Mala Strana (Lesser Town), south of the Castle district. Commissioned by the Jesuits and completed in 1710, it is a shrine to the Catholic counter-reformation. St. Nicolas was not only the Czech equivalent of Santa Claus, but he was also the patron saint of municipal administration. Quite a combination!
